This project was part of a major expansion programme to further Ipsen Biopharms production capability of Dysport®, which is used in the treatment of neuromuscular disorders. Following manufacture the product is finally freeze dried, emerging as a white powder, which is then reconstituted when ready to be administered to the patient.
The project itself consisted of a number of vessels and interconnecting distribution lines with temperature sensors installed at optimum points throughout the process for control and monitoring. Accurate data derived from these instruments was considered to be of paramount importnance to maintain product quality.
Following submission of the tender and further discussions with the contractor DPS Engineering, the contract for temperature sensing was awarded to Thermal Detection. This included our MD Series of PT100 resistance thermometers and thermowells fitted with PR Electronics temperature transmitters.
